Relocating from one place to another can be hideous especially when it comes to shifting things that are delicate. Shifting plants that has life but cannot move is a very complicated task. Relocating plants from one place to another is risky after all and the risk increases proportionally with the increase in the distance that you are going to relocate.

When it comes to a long distance move the complication in moving your indoor plants from one place to another increases, by packing the plants all by yourself you can even end up putting your plants life in risk. So it is always safe to hire packers and movers when it comes shifting any delicate objects. But if you want to double pack your plants for the long move here’s how you do it.

Purchase the necessary things that are required for packing your plants as your first step. You might have to by a shatter proof pots, cardboard boxes, tapes, bubble wrap.

As the next step repot the plants from your normal pots to the shatter proof pots before three weeks of your relocation and cut or prune the extra lengths or leaves two weeks before the relocation.

You can water them in a normal manner before two days of your relocation but see to that the soil does not exceeds the moisture level when you are relocating it.

Now that you have prepared your plant you have to pack it in a perfect manner and to do that you must cover the top part of the pot with a newspaper or a bubble wrap and then wrap the outer layer with the bubble wrap, now take a cardboard box of suitable size and tape the bottom of the box with the tape. Now place the plants inside the box and pack them.

Make sure you keep the plants in the correct temperature throughout the travelling period.

After the relocation process is completed and after your plants has arrived safely at your new place, you must unload them and repot them into your usual ceramic pots. Now you have to take a complete care of your plants providing them with the right amount of nutrients, water and sunlight.

If you are moving overseas then you should actually check with the customs about moving your plants to another country and obey the law, if you cannot move your plants overseas then you can sell them if you have the right amount of time or you can give them away to your friends, neighbour or anyone who is interested in growing them.
